The Vole had asked the Supreme court of the land to tear up patents held by boffin professor Lee Keung-Hae.
Lee had claimed a patent infringement aainst the Vole and filed for damages. The Vole bit back and asked for the patents to be invalidated.
The patents relate methods of switching between the Korean language and Officese.
Now the court has dismissed Microsoft's manoeuvre, opening the way for further progress by the boffin in his fight against his clawed adversary.
"Microsoft should stop selling its Office suite incorporating the language-switch solution and accept our demand for compensation," a spokesman for the boffin's company told AFP. He reckons the Vole should cough up around $75 million (USD) for nicking the software.
"Microsoft has used our technologies without paying software royalties to our side," he told the wire. µ
