INQ interviews the Gaming Greats

E3 Spector and Garriot radiate wisdom
Fri May 20 2005, 11:04
THE INQ IS KNOWN for its in-depth news coverage and incisive interviews that pull no punches. At the NCSoft party last night, we got a chance to sit down with two of the gaming greats, Warren Spector and Richard 'Lord British' Garriot. Garriot is on the left, Spector is on the right.

The following is pretty close to what was said at the side of the pool if we remember right.

Charlie: What is good at the show?

Man not important to be in the picture pokes Spector: What was good on the show floor?

Spector: Muble mumble, Trauma Center for the Nintendo DS.

(Much stuff cut)

Charlie: So, can I quote you as saying 'Warren Spector thinks the best game at the show deals with colon polyps?'

Spector: Yes, but I didn't say that.

Charlie: Can I quote you as saying that I paraphrased what you said as 'Warren Spector thinks the best game at the show deals with colon polyps?'

Spector: Yes.

Charlie: Can you take damage in real life?

Garriot: Yes.

I would like to thank these two gods of game design for their cutting edge insights into the world of high end gaming. It was fascinating as well as fun. µ

Do you think the move was justified?
