WHEN THE EU CORNERED a piece of Youtube for its own devices, it chose to showcase Europeans at their best.

But Eurocrats seemed surprised when their bonktastic 44-second clip of 18 climaxing couples began ringing Youtubular bells.

The video promoting European "art-house" movies became the most-viewed of the EU's Youtube pages and the focus of the daily Eurocratic press briefing this morning.

The clip, entitled "Film Lovers Will Love This!" showed couples coupling willy-nilly, in all manner of styles and locations, apparently. It has been viewed more than 280,000 times. EUtube's next most-viewed page has had 30,000 hits.

Hacks questioned whether the porno page was the best use of EU funds.

"Let us for once also have a good sense of humour and let us not start the old wars of the fifties about what is sex, what is pornography and what is simply normal to watch on television," Commission spokesman Martin Selmayr suggested.

He said the Commission had received no complaints in the 14 weeks since the clip was first posted, um, here. µ
