The G965 does blow chunks

Numbers trickle out, and they are bad
Mon Aug 14 2006, 08:05
REMEMBER WE TOLD you about the G965 chipset and its embedded graphics blowing chunks?

Well, the numbers are trickling out, and we can now quantify how hard said chunks are blown.

According to PCOnline, the G965 'doth sucketh', paraphrased, but if you run that page through Bablefish enough, I am sure you can make those words come out.

They sucketh leth on high more shader intensive apps like 3DMark05 where they are only 10% behind their predecessor.

That is the high point, on Quake3, they don't manage to hit 50% of the frame rate that the i945G hits. Ouch, this one is going to redefine 'extreme' much the same way the i740 did, blazing a trail that can only wish for mediocrity. Moral. Avoid this one like the plague people. µ
