VOLE'S NEW SURFACE computers have become fashionable at that grown-up Disneyland staffed and populated by the cast and audience of the Jerry Springer show, Las Vegas
According to AP, Microsoft's touch-screen computers are being used to give Sin City punters high-tech tools for flirting and concocting cocktails.
Harrah's Entertainment has installed six customised Surface computers at its Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino. The outfit wrote custom software for the machines and equipped them with cameras so people can send pick-lines, drinks or both to anyone in the room.
It gets worse. A "Flirt" feature in the Surface computers lets people exchange original messages or choose from suggested chat-up lines.
Harrah's vice president of innovation, gaming and technology Tim Stanley said Surface is aimed at giving "a new genre of guests chances to discover uninhibited excitement".
The big idea is that punters can do everything without leaving the table bar. Well... not everything of course. If your Volish chat up lines work, you might have to leave the bar to take the object of your affection back to his or her trailer. µ

Can't someone create an incentive for American girls to hop across the pond to populate some of our fabulous traditional public houses instead?
Just so you know, an English accent in America is like some sort of vocal spanish fly. It absolutely drives girls up the wall. I just thought some of the male Inq writers should take note of this for when they grow weary of being lonely drunks
Six units in a 2nd tier off-the-strip casino and this is news? Call me when (if) this thing moves out of beta.
I wish I had known this last week when I was actually in Vegas.

They already have a very user friendly version of this at any hotel bar on the strip. Its called an empty seat next to you, you get a steady stream of girls offering themselves to you.
Something about the English accent that makes them want to stay and chat when you decline.
