SKY+ ADDICTS can now use the web to select programme recording for the excellent PVR system*.

Sky launched Remote Record in the summer, allowing some mobile phone users to avoid that "oh darn, it's Corry/Entourage/Britain's Hardest Pubs/50 Hottest Celebrity Hook-ups tonight and I forgot to Sky+ it" moment. Now subscribers have a superior option because they can actually see the enormous EPG programme roster and select options accordingly.

In other gogglebox news, The Guardian reports that Richard Branson has told his tech monkeys to get rid of the "Sky Snooze" listing that replaced the Sky News channel when it was cut from the Virgin Media service after a payment dispute. µ

* Note for non-UK readers, Sky+ is a Tivo-like service that exhausted UK subscriber-drones see as a life-changing investment.
