IBM hit by W32.Blaster worm

And Motorola too - so it's not all small fry
Wed Aug 13 2003, 17:00
A MEMO on internalmemos.com suggests that IBM in Europe was hit by the W32.Blaster worm that's still proliferating around the world.

According to the memo, AT&T was forced to lock all affected ports within IBM EMEA, and that meant print services were downed, because all printing goes through central servers to "secure them".

And reliable sources tell the INQUIRER that Motorola suffered from infection too yesterday.

Other infections at large corporations have occurred, however secure the edges of networks. Some people have taken laptops from inside the firewall, used them at home, been infected, taken them back into work and then unleashed Mr Blaster inside the firewall. µ
