THE LADS and lasses from the Vale of Evesham in pork pie land have released a nice machine for £1,999. It has all you want Core 2 Duo 6700, 2x512 MB DDR2 memory even we would like to see 2x1024 MB, 320 GB 7200 S-ATA drive, 640MB DDR NVIDIA GeForce PX8800 GTS PCI-E graphics, a 22-inch sidescreen black TFT display, Creative X-Fi AXtreme audio card, a DVD and a DVD recorder, Cooler Master 831 case and 3 year gold warranty.

You will get the machine nine days after you order it as this is how much time Evesham needs to put it together. It is a BTO, built to order machine. You can also get a credit line for this machine and buy it now and pay over twelve months.

The best thing about this deal is that you get Windows XP Media Centre Edition 2005 and you get a voucher for free Vista. The only thing it is missing for this price is 2GB of memory but then again you will get one of the first machines with Vista available as soon as Microsoft says yes. You can always upgrade the machine and change the memory size, or a bigger drive, swap the Geforce 8800 GTS with GTX or GTX in SLI but for the price. µ
