AMD to use TSMC to fab 45 nano Fusions - report

Yeah but...
Tuesday, 24 July 2007, 11:50
DIGITIMES said, based on rumours from a JP Morgan report, that AMD could use TSMC to fab up 45 nanometre Fusion CPUs.

We dunno how far ahead TSMC is on the 45 nanometre curve, but we suspect it's quite a way behind other players in the process field.

But JP Morgan reckons the first quarter of 2008 is realistic for Fusion CPU manufacturing, although we'd doubt that very much. The report even reckons chips are sampling which really can be scarecely credible.

Someone go ask Carly Fiorina or Peter Bonfield, would you? ยต
