PS3 to go slim and light

Console round-up Xbox 360 Elite sells like hot toffee
Sunday, 3 February 2008, 20:20

THE WII FIT has spent it's fourth consecutive week at the top of the Japanese charts, selling over 1.2 million units thus far. Personally, we can't wait to get hold of it and burn off a few beer-induced calories.

Here's a leaked shot of the ultra mini DS Lite. Just don't expect it to play games.

If you'd prefer something much bulkier, try this Famicom player for your DS. Expect to have bigger muscles after a game or two.

If you're fed up with the Wii Zapper, and want something looking a bit cooler, check out this pistol mod.

PS3/PSP
Almost as soon as the 3.90 PSP firmware was released, it was cracked. It took the hackers a mammoth two days this time.

Despite the rumours of 120GB and 160GB PS3s Gamedaily.com spoke to a reliable Sony source to find out what's actually going on with the PS3 SKUs. According to the source the executive teams and product strategists are meeting this week in Japan and, "there are a lot of different strategies under consideration, but nothing is final yet."

However, T3 suggests that rumours of a 'slim and lite' Playstation 3 may have some foundation.

Sony's games division finally turned a profit last quarter, anno unced shortly after Microsoft's game division also reported a profitable period. Overall, Sony's profits rose 25 per cent for the quarter, but Sony also announced sales targets for the PS3 have been dropped from 11 million to 9.5 million units, citing a slow start, while increasing PSP projections to 13 million from 10 million as originally expected.

Xbox 360
It seems another game is causing Core SKU users some grief - this time Burnout Paradise which expresses the need of a HDD for online play. Bah!

Maybe you should buy an Elite instead. If you can find one. Apparently, Microsoft can't meet demand at the moment, and they're selling like hot cakes. Or heaters.

If you're fed up of the 360 controller and much prefer to talk, check this voice recognition mod.

And please. Don't email Bill about your RRODeeed console. He doesn't appreciate it. ยต
