Vole delays Mac Office until 2008

Bugs in software, yeah right, really
Thursday, 2 August 2007, 20:26
CONSOLE FIRM Microsoft has delayed the release of Office 2008 for Apple's Macintosh computers until the middle of January 2008.

In a press release, Vole said that there were a few bugs in the software which needed to be purged before Office could be stuck on the nice looking but reassuringly expensive Apple machines.

Microsoft hoped that Office would be ready for the second half of 2007, but when it didn't arrive PCPro hacks rang up to ask why.

Craig Eisler, general manager of Microsoft's Macintosh business unit told Associated Press that Vole was facing quality problems across the board.

One of the problems it faced was Apple's decision to switch to Intel-based chips and then Microsoft's move to a new file format with the release of Office 2007.

Vole will release the software at the Macworld conference in mid-January.

And there's more at PC Pro . ยต
