AMD lent $650 million for New York State fab

Near IBM? Really

THE POST*STAR said AMD will get $650 million from New York State to build a 12-inch fab at the Luther Forest Technology Campus.

The firm said last June that the fab will provide plenty of jobs in the Luther Forest site in Saratoga County.

But, according to the Post*Star , the final details were inked last week.

AMD, said the newspaper, will have a two year window to start building the fab between July 2007 to July 2009. µ
