I am easily satisfied with the very best - Winston Churchill
ANOTHER FEW DAYS in the wondrous world of consoles, seems to bring further sales figures and increased financial fortunes.
Wii/DS
According to
Enterbrain
figures, the Wii has sold over 5 million units in Japan.
That's within sixty weeks. In comparison, Nintendo's DS took 56 weeks to pass the five million mark, while Sony's Playstation 2 took 66 weeks.
Unsurprisingly this has lead to analysts expecting Nintendo to exceed financial predictions. Wedbush Morgan's Michael Pachter said in an investment note Tuesday that Nintendo will surpass its current full-year sales guidance of 1,550 billion yen due to "tremendous" sales of the Wii and DS.
We wonder if the Vii 2 will perform as well.
Forget Microsoft's surface technology, all you need is a Wiimote, and a little hacking.
Xbox 360
Bunnie, well known from the days of Xbox 1 hacking, has given his
analysis
of the 360'sGPU BGA problems, which is interesting reading after
last
week's RROD failure insider information.
Some unnamed person has tipped that Microsoft will be dropping the price of the Premium 360 another $49 on the same day thatGTAIV gets released. One to watch.
If you're bored of your 360, you can always watch 1500 Xbox 1HDD's fall over like dominos.
PS3/PSP
Similarly to Nintendo, Sony has also announced good sales. Sony Computer
Entertainment president Kazuo Hirai has
claimed
that around 1.2 million Playstation 3 consoles have been sold in Europe for the
five week period ended December 31st 2007, equaling the number sold during the
same period in the U.S.
A white PS3 has appeared on the US' FCC site, indicting that a white PS3 will shortly arrive on US shores.
Sony has announced the Skype add-on, and microphone, has been delayed in Japan, but not the rest of the world. ยต
