Apple releases clothes rail of Imacs

Slimmer, faster, cheaper, limited

THE MAKER of entertainment gear, Apple has got around to releasing a range of things called computers which it has not bothered with for a while.

The new computers are slimmer, come with faster chips and glossy screens and are even a bit cheaper.

The all-in-one desktop computers have lost the white plastic case and now sport a shell made of aluminium. The 17-inch display option is also a thing of the past as the new PCs will have only 20-inch and 24-inch screens.

Under the bonnet there is an Intel Core 2 Duo processor, with clock speeds of either 2GHz and 2.4GHz. A 2.8GHz chip is available as a configure-to-order model.

However, there is one huge weak link in the computer's spec. It only comes with a graphics card option with is laughable for the gaming community. You have a best choice of the Radeon HD 2600 Pro, while the budget machines feature an ATI Radeon HD 2400XT graphics card.

The only reason that we can think of for this sort of spec is that Apple did not want to make the machine thicker by installing something with a bit more grunt. The only problem is that it has made the machine a workstation only really fit for the basics.
