Myspace hooks up with the RIAA and Amazon

Listen to millions of tunes for free
Thu Sep 25 2008, 11:31

SOCIAL NOT-WORKING nexus Myspace has millions of songs available for free listening and paid downloading, due to deals it's made with four major recording labels and Amazon.

Myspace Music lets users search for tunes by title, artist or album, select tracks to a playlist and listen to them streamed over the Internet with an online music player.

The Myspace music player displays advertising and links playlist tracks to Amazon's online music store where users can buy and download them.

The participating MAFIAA recording companies and music copyright holders include EMI, Orchard, Sony ATV and Sony BMG, Universal Music and Warner Music.

Major advertisers that have reportedly signed up with Myspace Music include McDonald's, Sony Pictures, State Farm and Toyota.

We'll estimate that the elapsed time until someone hacks Myspace Music's online player to record tunes without paying Amazon to download them will be merely a matter of days. µ

The Irony of it...

Doesn't anybody else find it ironic that the Record Industry and Film Industry organisations of America have merged creating the same name as a well known, Scicillian based crime syndicate:

MAFIAA: extorting funds from it's customers for the benifit of itself.

Do you think they call their managing director "God Father"?

Has anybody heard if the MAFIAA are looking into animal and human cloning? Well, that's copyright isn't it? They would need to charge a subscription to the person being cloned and a royalty to anybody interacting with that clone...

Dolly... Run..!!!
