Tosh, Sony and NEC build 45nm platform

A JAPANESE GANG of Toshiba, Sony and NEC said it moved closer to having the ability to produce 45 nanometre (nm) chips.

The three say their co-developed Large Scale Integration (LSI) mass production platform for 45nm process technology "optimises a balance of high performance and high reliability while combining individual elemental technology with new technologies and improvements." We'll take their word for it.
