PC World criticised for laptop sale offer

10 per store alone
Wed Feb 28 2007, 10:54
THE ADVERTISING STANDARDS ASSOCIATION rapped DSG Retail - PC World - for advertising laptops for £199 which were only available in limited quantities.

PC World showed a TV advert offering a laptop for that price available on Boxing Day, but in actual fact, said the ASA, only 10 laptops were available at each store and only one per customer.

People queuing up to get into PC World were given leaflets saying that. The ASA said because the ad didn't make any of this clear, PC World "was misleading by omission". µ
