Gherkin like heat dissipator goes on sale

CHILEAN WEBSITE Chilehardware gets to test an ATI Radeon X800XL 512MB PCIe. Granted I do not understand a single word of Spanish - or is it portuguese. Anyway, see some nice close up photos of the R430 part. The reviewer has also been able to overclock the card to 460/1120 which represent an increase of about 15% on stock clocks. As it is unfortunately often the case, there is no direct comparison with other graphc cards so no immediate clue whether it is a good buy or not.

Maxit, a lads online mag, presents a top 10 desktop PC buyers guide, which basically brings together the most expensive computers that you might probably buy out there right now with your money. No Dell or Tiny here, but you do have brand names like Evesham, Apple or Sony. The viewwer also give a check list of stuff to check for when going on a buying rampage.

BurnoutPC checks some watercooling equipement from Evercool, the WC-202 is small enough to fit in an existing 5.25-inch bay space. The heatsink and the radiator are both made up of copper and one set covers both the CPU and your graphic card. The manufacturer states that the WC-202 is up to 30% mor effective than other coolers. Cheap and easy to install, another candidate for the best value for money water cooling solution.

On the other hand, Watercooling 101 explores a solution to a regular watercooling problem, removing kinks from water tubes. A solution might be the Swiftech coolsleeves which basically are UV reactive coil-looking springs. With Coolsleeves places around the tube, the reviewer found that the maximum bending radius decreased dramatically, thereby effectively reducing kinks.

The new buzz word in hardware is not Vista but actually Dual. With that in mind, extremetech delivers an article that focus on building a dual everything system where every component is basically multiplied by two. It's astounding what kind of articles can crop up from the minds of journalists allowed to play with the latest gear around. Anyway, if you'd like to see double - from the 4800+ dual core, to RAIDed hard disk drives to SLI 7800GTX in action, check that article and enjoy the trip.

A1electronics tests the Thermaltake Rocket Fanless water cooler heatsink. When I first saw it, I thought it was a model for one building or an aluminium replica of London's Ghurkin. Wrong I was. The Rocket thingie actually stands outside your computer which isn't actually a bad idea. I wonder who will be the first to use a computer casing as a giant heat dissipator. µ
