OCZ releases enhanced latency PC-3200 Platinum XTC Modules

Better timing than Corsair's, claim

THE MEMORY wars are not taking a break. OCZ technology just released new memory modules that it claims have better timings than its competition. It has two different kits - the PC-3200 Platinum 1024MB XTC and PC-3200 Platinum Revision 2 XTC. This is among the fastest memory that you will find for DDR 400 platforms. This is kind of evening tide for this memory anyway, as from Q3 even AMD moves to DDR 2.

The first kit includes two times 1024MB modules with quite fast 2-3-2-5 timings. We know that Corsair 2x1024 MB Corsair XMS-3500LL PRO memory can do 2-3-2-6 which is very close but still slower. We can imagine that Corsair works on some new modules with even faster timings as we speak.

The second kit PC-3200 Platinum Revision 2 XTC features two times 512MB modules with the fastest timing around the magical 2-2-2-5. Corsair has an answer for this one and it is called TWINX1024-3200XLPRO and it includes two CMX512-3200XLPRO memory DIMMs. It is not easy to get this timing with bigger modules, we can remember that we used 2-2-2-5 settings on Athlon XP Epox board and Corsair memory but we used two times 256MB and it was much easier to get those timings on those modules than it is with the big ones.

Both kits are covered with fancy platinum mirrored XTC, Xtreme Thermal Convection heat spreaders and should we available very soon now. ยต
