Golden pig goes under the microscope

Any way the wind blows

WE'RE USED to seeing a lot of crazy things in the hardware world, but a heatsink shaped like a golden pig is not something we were ever expecting.

PowerColor has produced a DAAMIT X1650 card with a massive gold heatsink on it in the shape of a pig. 2007 is the Chinese Year of the Pig and the packaging for the box is adorned with 'Year of the Pig 2007 Special Edition' markings, just so you know what you're getting yourself into.

You can see the card in action here. It appears to have a large fan painfully located in its stomach, which can't be good for digestion or, frankly, for the smell.

However, that doesn't stop the little chap from looking rather content with his plump situation. The card is being sold exclusively through NewEgg, so us poor old Brits will simply have to live without its beauty adorning our machines.

2008 is the year of the Rat. Watch out.
