Futuremark refreshes its cute little face

3GSM brings out two new cellphonemarks
Wednesday, 14 February 2007, 10:21
FUTUREMARK ISN'T ONLY developing its 3DMark or PCMark benchmarks. The company has been working on mobile benchmarks for years now and released two tests for handheld manufacturers at the 3GSM show in Barcelona.

These tests are called 3DMarkMobile JSR 184 and SPMarkJava Web, and their sole purpose is to give manufacturers comparable tools for accurate comparisons for devices using Java M3H and OpenGL ES 3D APIs.

The testing workloads have been developed in collaboration with members of its handheld benchmark development programme (BDP). As handhelds are expected to hit 3D big time this year, it is only a matter of time before Futuremark releases public tests and mobile phone reviewers end up comparing "Mobilemarks". ยต
