Acer's Stan Shih goes golfing with Gary Player

And fake lamas flood Old Taipei

THE FOUNDER of the PC industry in Old Taipei is spending more time with his golf balls, the Economic News said.

Shih still spends time at Acer but has signed a joint venture with Black Knight International to start the Gary Player Group Asia in Old Taipei. Major investors include Stan and his son. More here.

Meanwhile the Taipei Times reckons that the stability of Taiwan is being threatened by "fake Tibetan lamas" from China applying to enter using forged documents.

It said some lamas are Chinese agents engaged in subversion while "many" have been arrested for drug trafficking, sex offences and fraud. Here. ยต
