AMD will surprise on Monday

Just fancy that!
Sunday, 9 December 2007, 22:27

A WHOLE TRANCHE of systems integrators and distributors alerted the INQ to an announcement Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) will make late Monday.

That's tomorrow, because it's still the Sabbath here, and really we should not be writing.

It has probably figured out 45 nanometre tech, but, more importantly than that, will ship Barcelonas like there's no tomorrow, thanks to its fabless partners.

So, after all, ATI did bring something to the party. It is asset light. Or get your stuff fabbed out. Jerry Sanders III is probably meditating on how " real men have fabs". µ

Do you understand securities laws?

Oh, I guess you Brits don't fall under the jurisdicktion of the US courts, but you are trying to influence the trading activities of a US equity.

Why don't you screw around with Brit's own technology companies?

Oh, I remember, Brit's don't have crap. They can only talk about US companies...

Negative or positive surprise?

With analyst day on Thursday, good news on Monday seems unlikely. Unless of course there is too much good news to stuff into a single day with the analysts. The Monday news could be... a 3 for 1 stock split!

Hmmm...

Isn't the recently canceled November Analyst meeting coming up this week? (Tues?)

What a ko-in-key-dink!

Unless their surprise is to cancel the meeting on no notice...(again)

sabbath?

... so the day before monday is the sabbath where you are? what planet is that?? the SABBATH is the 7th day of the week & not the 1st (sunday). Any old calander will surfice to correct this mistake & if in doubt ask any Jew, they have been worshiping on the SABBATH for 4,000 years, so guess they would know.

Sunday is often called the LORDS DAY for the resurection as christ rose on the saturday evening (days were calculated sunset to sunset) so actualy the lords daywas actualy on saturday as well....

Look forward to AMD pulling one out of the hat, lets see if its worth the PR & if it will ship anytime soon as its close to xmas now.

Sunday keeping of (most) christian churchs began with the changing of the day by then early christian church at around 300ad by what was to be known as the catholic church. Prodestants for the most part kept the TADITION but its not the day mentioned in the bible anywhere, ever by anyone, inc GOD

Sunday IS the Sabbath. Sunday is the seventh day of the week. Monday is the START (the first day) of the week, which is why it comes AFTER the weekEND which includes Sunday.

There is an oooold poem which starts "Mondays child is...." and goes all the way through to "The child that is born on the Sabbath day is...". The Sabbath part comes after Saturday, meaning the Sabbath is Sunday.

I don't know when America changed the way the week works, but keep it in your own country. Also, learn to spell (jurisdicktion (wtf), cheque, colour). If you say you speak English, at least get it right.

ROFLMAO!

Hector Ruiz Named Top Innovator

CRN has named Hector Ruiz one of the Top 25 “Most Innovative Executives” of 2007. The article highlights execs who are focused not only on technology innovation, but also on true business innovation.

Does driving your company into the ground count as innovation nowadays?

So, Where's The Surprise?

So, what was the big announcement? A denial of Barfelona problems? Crowing that AMD is actually doing better then has been reported all over the web?

Or maybe just simply more B.S. talking points for web reporters?

That's no "surprise" at all
