DELL SEEMS TO HAVE dumped Kevin Rollins as its CEO.

Rollins is to be replaced by one Michael Dell, the company said today.

According to its statement, Dell board believes, "There is no better person in the world to run Dell at this time than the man who created the Direct Model and who has built this company over the last 23 years."

Rollins is going to stay on the Dell board, so it looks like the parting is not all that acrimonious. No tales of visiting sick relatives or devoting lives to helping a charity in a country no one has heard of here. µ
