Barcelona spotted in Hangover

CeBIT 007 How I copped a feel

SO, SOMEONE CAME up to me and said 'Want to see an AMD quad core?' A few minutes later, we were in a dark corner and I had an Agenia in my hand. It was a tad less than thrilling though, it was just a chip, and no pictures were allowed.

Why the lack of enthusiasm? It wasn't the elaborate grounding procedure I had to go through to pick it up (touch that metal thing first), or the fact that even offers of sex wouldn't persuade the person with it to let me take pictures, it was the look of it. With one exception, it looked just like any current X2.

Same physical characteristics, same socket, same electricals, same everything, also covered by a heat spreader. It was a hefty chunk of thermal material covered with 940 pins on the back.

There was one big difference in the markings, though. Wiping away the thermal paste rvealed that there were three shorter lines in the middle and no 2D barcode. But other than that, they were just like any other 940 part. µ
