Boots' toe separator shortage looms in points scheme SNAFU

Sole traders prompt corny exchange
Sun Jul 04 2004, 13:14
SHARP-EYED gumshoes at the Moneysavingexpert site are causing a nationwide shortage of toe separators after they realised Boots' point scheme contains a profitable loophole.

A heap of people on the site's board claim that Boots offers 100 points if you buy products from its Natural range.

The trouble is that £1 is worth 100 points, and some of the products in its range cost less than that, allowing the possibility of nailing profits from the scheme.

For example, it appears that Boots' toe separators only cost 49 pence but generate £1 worth of points. According to the forum, people are going into high street stores and clearing out the entire stock of toe separators, the heels.

But now the boot is on the other foot for folk who actually need the toe separators to, er, separate their toes.
