No pornography please, we're Indonesian

Just say NO
Tuesday, 25 March 2008, 16:09

ON TUESDAY, Indonesia’s parliament passed a new information bill, limiting access to pornographic, violent or ethnically hostile sites. The country, which has an 85 per cent Muslim majority, has been bitterly divided over the subject of pornography over the last few years.

Under the new legislation, dubbed the Electronic Information and Transactions Law, Indonesia’s courts will also now be allowed to accept electronic material and data as evidence in cases related to improper use of the Internet. Reuters says that the new laws also stipulate that any person caught sending out porn, “false news” or racial or religious slurs on the Web could face six years of jail time or a 1 billion rupiah ($109,000) fine.

Information Minister Mohammad Nuh told journalists "There's no way we can save this nation by spreading pornography, violence and ethnic hostility," he also reckoned that the bill had been drafted after pressure from the public.

The Indonesian government will start censoring the Internet next month with specialised software and says it may even ban some sites outright. µ

No porn please

Right. Their Moslem. They don't drink booze (unless they are in another country), they don't believe in homosexuality (but most of the men keep young boyfriends), they don't masterbate (if someone is watching them), and they protect their women (by keeping them in medieval, nearly slavery conditions), they believe in a loving religion (that hates everyone else). Yup. Sure gotta admire THEM.

open your mind

hei Daryl Herbert

i think you should now that imam samudra, amrozi and another bali bomber are sentenced to death!

you should give more respect to our court process, use your brain than your emotion.

if you think that all moslem are militant, and all moslem shoud be sent to gas chamber, and it make you no better than people you condemn: militant moslem

I believe you are better than that, aren't you ?

Its all the same

there's no religion that teach killing of men is good.. it all comes down to the individual interpreting the beliefs.
9-11 might killed 3.000 peoples done by muslim, but the Iraq war by the christian US also killed 3.000 people & counting...
who's the better person? no one!

biased justice

well they execute tibo cs [a catholic] immediately after the sentence. for the bali bomber convicts [all moslem] though, they have been put them on a break for nearly 6 years now. yeah justice is kinda biased towards the majority here in Indonesia.
