Hardware Roundup Reviews around the web

DIGIT LIFE answers questions in an article called ways to increase (or rather improve) WiFi performance part 1. It looks at how you can superchage your WiFi connection through concatenation, compression, fast frames and bursting. Very much theorical in essense, so you might want to wait for the subsequent parts.

HardOCP checks on the BFGTech Geforce 7800GTX OC graphic card. That baby comes overclocked by default and allows it to provide with a fantastic 41.6GB/s memory bandwidth. You get some nice goodies also like a BFGtech tshirt, teflon mouse pad, plus some dongles as well as GameDrive 9.0 software. They like it so much that they gave it a "must have" badge.

Both HardOCP and Tweakpc.de reviews the Abit Fatal1ty AN8 SLI motherboard. ABIT has been locked into second or third place lately due to the success of DFI components but they are fighting back with their usual set of marchitecture like Flashmenu, microGuru or OC Guru. You do get absolutely the same set of features as you would get on other SLI AMD board - except perhaps for the Dual OTES, the wicked Guru Panel and the AudioMax audio card. The board though has had some failings especially on the stability front.

Surely Driverheaven is bucking the trend when it says that the Pentium D 820 is faster than the X2 4800+. Surely some mistake ain't it? Nope. They even go on to say that it is a Phenomenal performer exceeding the X2 4800+, especially in Photoshop. Has Intel done something here? AMD fan boys look away.

AMDZone presents the K8T-890 based motherboard to the rest of us - one from Soltek, the K890Pro-939. First thing, it costs more than the entry level nForce 4 Ultra and substantially more than a mATX K8T890 board. but does comes with some interesting features. Read from there. Somewhere in AMDzone's forum, there's a photo of an unfortunate dead AMD Athlon FX57, killed by its owner by accident. Guess what though, he's buying another. µ
