THE FIGHT FOR THE mainstream market is a tough one. In order to drum up interest for the Geforce 8600GT series of cards, Sparkle released Calibre P860 Turbo, a graphics card from its famous Calibre series.
This time around, no Peltiers were used (since a T.E.C. module would probably cost as the graphics card itself), but engineers built an interesting dual-slot card. Just like recently launched cards from MSI, this one comes with a Turbo button, which overclocks the card and significantly improves performance.
Backplate sports some interesting connectors and openings for future
combinations...
What makes this card different from previous models is the fact that it uses SCT (Super Clock Tech), overclocking GPU clock, memory clock and more interestingly - shader clock as well. When Turbo mode is activated, GPU will be clocked at 580 MHz (from 540 MHz), shaders go up to 1.4 GHz (up from 1.18 GHz), while memory will be clocked at 1.5 GHz (up from 1.4 GHz).
Boards should be available right away, only concern we have is the amount of video memory. 256MB GDDR3 will be challenged by a lot of upcoming games, but all manufacturers are in the same boat here. ยต
waste of time, just permanently leave it OC.
Oh a button, perhaps they should put a label on it.
