Over 300 gamers participated in an all day LAN party, which included a Battlefield 2 tournament.

Nalu, the "demo girl" for the GeForce 6 line of products announced her own retirement live at the event. Although the lip-synching was off by a bit due to audio echoing as well as projector delay, the real-time rendering was quite amazing. According to nVIDIA the system running the real-time demo was powered by Quadro cards.

This is the new face of the GeForce 7xxx demos. The live action demo should be on nVIDIA's website shortly and will be worth the download. Tim Sweeney of Unreal fame was on hand to show a demo of the Unreal engine running on the new nVIDIA part. Previous demos were run at 640x480, while the demo shown last night was running at 1280x1024 quite smoothly.

nVIDIA had many playable games on the demo floor, including those which has been released as well as unreleased titles.

Carrie Cowan, nVIDIA's Consumer/Games/Partner PR Manager, was showing off a pre-alpha of the upcoming game Serious Sam II. After exploring the demo for a few minutes, I stumbled upon a configuration menu, and it seems that this game is due to hit the console as well as the PC game shelves.

Kids of all ages seemed to find the demo games enjoyable.

A familiar face to the Inquirer staff, and former competitor at the TigerDirect PC building competition back in January is now on nVIDIA's staff. Nick Stam was the former hardware technical director for PC Magazine, and is part of the ever growing staff at nVIDIA.

Brian Burke, nVIDIA's Desktop PR Manager, was on hand along with the rest of the nVIDIA public relations group.

nVIDIA's Director of Public Relations, Derek Perez was caught on camera taking a break towards the end of the night. ยต
