SONY HAS TODAY announced the latest in its Walkman line, the Walkman Video MP3 Player.

The new walkman, officially called the NW-A800 series, is less than a centimetre thick and sports a two inch colour LCD screen. The player supports the MPEG-4 codec as well as AVC. Getting video onto the gizmo is easy as pie, says Sony, with a simple drag and drop.

As is standard with all these fancy-pants portable media contraptions, music and pictures are available to you too. Battery life is about 30 hours for music and 8 hours of continuous video playback, says Sony. Unsurprisingly, you can buy nonsense off of the Sony Connect music download store, including videos.

Following the iPod accessory trend, there will be tons of kit available for you to snap onto your Walkman, including a Bluetooth transmitter and an in-car gadget.

The Walkman Video will be available from April this year, says Sony, and will come in a range of colours including black and pink. Hey, two is a range. ยต
