Motorola leaps up mobile phone charts

Hi pop pickers
Wednesday, 9 August 2006, 16:30
A REPORT from iSuppli said that Motorola, for years the wallflower at the edge of the dance floor, has had a makeover and looks stunning again.

During the second calendar quarter of this year, Motorola shipments reached 51.9 million units, 12.6 per cent up from Q1.

It's all down to the success of its slim Razr telephone, which Tina Teng, wireless comms analyst at iSuppli, described as "wildly successful".

Market share gains were particularly successful in China, North America and India, she said.
