Asus launches low-end Nova PC

Hack put in his place
Thu Nov 29 2007, 18:18

ASUSTEK IS A BIG company now focused on its brand promotion. Besides things like Republic Of Gamers (ROG) high-end mainboards and the infamous eeePC, there is now a line of compact cute yet comparatively slow desktops imaginatively called Nova.

The 2-litre lightweight Nova P22, based on the simple Intel Core 2 Duo E6320, is some 50 times less voluminous and 30 times lighter than a certain IT hack with the same nickname, yet retails for only around US$ 1,000. Way cheaper than the above-mentioned spoiled "business class or above only" brat.

You'd have thought such an infamous nickname would be used for an ultra-high end line. Maybe Asus dual-socket Xeon uber-gaming answer to Intel's Skulltrail.

Since both are kinda delayed, it looks like the precious brand name ended stamped on a low-cost ladies' PC thingie.

Talking about the ladies, the one in the middle of the photo is carrying Nova. Does he mind it?
