Xbox 360 to get integrated Blu-ray

GTA IV might be plagued with bugs, but this hasn't stopped Rockstar spending an estimated $100 million on developing the game.

This estimate comes from GTA IV producer Leslie Benzies in an interview with The Times - if the figure is correct, GTA IV's development costs would make it the most expensive game ever.

Xbox 360
According to Next-Gen.biz, Microsoft is claiming that the Xbox 360 version of GTA IV has been outselling the Playstation 3 version in the U.S. by a two-to-one margin.

"What we've heard anecdotally from our retail partners is that the Xbox 360 version of the game is outselling the PS3 version by a margin of two-to-one," said Aaron Greenberg.

A SCEA employee questioned Microsoft's findings, saying that Microsoft's two-to-one ratio "doesn't line up" with what Sony has been hearing from its retailers.

The Chinese language Economic Daily News is reporting that Pegatron, an OEM subsidiary of ASUS, has won an order from Microsoft to assemble Xbox 360s with an integrated Blu-ray drive.

This is via Digitimes which previously reported Lite-on had won a similar order, which Microsoft later denied.

Microsoft has already denied these new rumours according to Gamepro.

PS3/PSP
The PSP sold over 92,000 units in Japan for the week ending April 27th, extending its lead over other platforms for this calendar year with around 1.5 million sales in 2008.

SCEA has announced sales of Playstation 3 have been boosted in the US following the release of GTA IV.

"From our position, the launch of GTA IV has been tremendous in driving traffic to our stores, as well as providing a vigorous lift in PS3 console sales over this time last week," Bob McKenzie said on behalf of Sony.

Rockstar is working "around the clock" to fix freezing issues with GTA 4, Take-Two customer support has told Videogamer.com.

Specifically the site was told: "A patch is being worked on around the clock to address the issues. It's bound to be. That's how they address this sort of thing. It is being worked on. We're looking into it. You will hear from us if a patch is released. A patch is usually the way it's been done."

A variety of work arounds were also suggested, listed at the above link.

Wii/DS
If you don't have a Wii Fit yet don't worry - Nintendo has told Gamesindustry.biz that more stock is coming on a weekly basis. But you'll need to be quick - Currys has said that a copy of Wii Fit is selling every four seconds.

This guy got fit playing Wii Sports - now he's trying Wii Fit. We say: stop putting weight on.

If you can't get fit with Wii Fit, maybe you'd prefer pole dancing? Believe it or not, Wii Pole Dancing is making an appearance on Nintendo's console.

Peekaboo Pole Dancing, the company that produces home pole-dancing kits endorsed by Carmen Electra, is looking for a partner to license their concept to create a pole-dancing game for the Wii.

What about 360 GTA IV patch?

The lockup problem also affects 360, but no sign of any 360 patch.
