Virtualisation market set to boom

A REPORT by IDC said that the $5.5 billion the virtualisation market was worth last year wil rise to $11.7 billion by 2011.

Most of the additional dosh will come because consulting and systems integration will become more dominant, rather than initial implementation of the tech.

Volume servers with a price of less $25,000 will account for the rise in value of the market, boosted by technology that lets enterprises virtualise X86/X64 servers, said IDC. µ
