Foxconn splits brands for AMD and Intel

Winfast nooks and crannies
Wed Aug 02 2006, 12:05
SOME time ago we spoke with some Foxconn executives and we learned what the company wants from its Winfast brand.

The Winfast brand is owned by Leadtek but since Spring 2004, big Foxconn has licensed this brand and uses it for the vast majority of its AMD based retail motherboards.

Foxconn is actually a registered trademark and brand of Hon Hai Precision Industry Co. Company and the Foxconn brand will be used for retail Intel based motherboards.

So the confusion is not going to go away. Leadtek will produce and brand the Winfast graphic cards and some other of its own products while Foxconn will market all the AMD boards with the same brand. Geddit?!? µ
