Intel Pro Platform named and discovered

And that name is.....
Sunday, 23 April 2006, 22:59
HOURS OF CAREFUL sleuthing have turned up a link, that will lead to some head scratching. (1) The link is here.

If you follow it, and type in 'vpro.net' without the single quotes, you end up with a page that is registered to a one Ben Kirby, innocuous enough, right?

Well, the aforementioned person has that domain name, and he happened to park it on the Intel corporate DNS servers. Guess what that means, other than the owners of vpro.com just getting a windfall? The name for the new Intel Pro platform is VPro. Yay, got it.

I must say, this name seems potentially on target, clean, nice and inoffensive, unless you are Dutch. In either case, I will bask in the inoffensiveness until I hear the explanation, I would guess it is downhill from there. We'll know in about 24 hours. ยต

(1) In light of the grey-bearded Intel mole's ( Sneakus santaclarus) plight due to lack of habitat and deep-frying in batter, please lay off the hunting. It was figured out(2), not handed out.
(2) The fact that www.vpro.net leads to www.intel.com doesn't help your case either.
(3) If you care about what it is, read this. Two thumbs up here.
(4) We were off by a couple of days, profuse apologies.
