Firefox 3 tryout launched
Next-gen browser release candidate

FIREFOX FOOTLERS can have a poke about under the hood of the next release of the popular Open Sores browser right now.
The second release candidate of the Firefox 3 release candidate, which is being made available 'for testing purposes only', is intended to garner feedback and bug detection from the army of unpaid developers and users who code and update Mozzilla's browsers and other software.
The release, which sits on the Gecko 1.9 web rendering platform, promises major improvements in performance, security and font handling.
Additions include one-click site interrogation, built-in malware protection, automatic plug-in checking and parental controls.

Glad to hear about the fox getting the go for 3, but how about some in game XMB and more on the spot coverage of rumors circulating over the release date of firmware 2.4

User of Ubuntu 8.04 have had FF version 3 for several weeks now.
Am i the only one that doesn't like how the bookmarks work now? I prefer the way FF2 works.
I upgraded to 64 bit Vista as my regular o/s and first casualty was Firefox with no 64 bit browser, so I'm now back to IE7.

More amazingly the latest Firefox forums suggested that even Firefox 4 may not include a 64 bit Windows version.
I don't understand the slander here. Open source software is almost universally more secure then its closed source bretheren. Open source programs typically have less bugs, and thus less malware to deal with.

Liam why cant u run firefox on 64 bit vista? We all have been since 64bit XP and Vista came out. Big wow that it isnt 64bit coded. For a internet browser where is the benefit?

And if you havent looked yet, there is a firefox 64bit alpha/beta out there, just have look around, its been out for a year or more......

Almost every program that I run on my 64bit Vista is 32bit, including FF 3 RC2. Last time i checked, the 64bit IE didn't even have flash support.

There is not much point in coding software in 64bit unless you're going to use the 64bit-ness anyway - browsers don't need it yet.

What gives?
If you are uncomfortable searching with MS live. Try using this instead its great and they pay you for all your searches whether it be for purchases search or common googleing. Yep they pay for a common no brainer thing as searching. They are based in UK but they can pay you regardless of geographical location. Best of all you can put it on firefox search bar

That should be *fewer* bugs, not less.
My installation attempt of firefox 3 said it would be the default. I saw no other option. I declined to install firefox 3 as my default browser.
