Google YouTube acquisition rumour floated

JUST A WEEK after serial entrepreneur Mark Cuban made the tasteless remark that "only a moron" would buy YouTube, TechCrunch is passing on a tip that Google could pick up the video-sharing site.

TechCrunch head honcho Michael Arrington suggests that Google could pay about $1.6bn for the hot property and notes that his source, singular, is a good one but goes on to rank the possibility at 40 percent. That's what you call flying a kite, or a teaser, in journalistic parlance.

As Arrington notes, the issue with YouTube is the "prospect of dealing with a ton of pissed off copyright holders". µ
