PRODUCER OF WIRELESS kit EnGenius Networks has announced today its launch of the NOC-8610 range of 5GHz bridging technology, available for under 300 quid.

EnGenius is hoping to, in its own words, "encourage the uptake of outdoor wireless Ethernet products that use the 5GHz frequency," for an affordable price - compared to the otherwise expensive 5GHz options that are available in the UK.

The NOC-8610 has been designed specifically to fit the UK-only requirement for all Band C products to be IR2007 compliant, says the company.

Both new products, the NOC-8610EXT and 8610PLUS - the latter being a 802.11/a/b/g access point packing a 16dbi panel antenna and a Reverse SMA socket - are able to encrypt all wireless transmissions using 62/128-bit WEP encryption, and also support the WPA2/WPA/802.1x encryptions.

If you fancy a gander, head on over to solwise.co.uk, where the products will be available from this April. µ
