Most of us like to have a try at the best of everything. Masochists at ZDnet wrote a list of the ten worst products of 2005 - which incidentally comes under the heading Gift guide 2005, just in case you want to give them to your worst enemy. In their list, some known names like the Oakley Thump sunglasses and the ROKR E1 iTunes phone. The worst product of 2005 is apparently a digital camera from Samsung. Was it that bad?
If you're on the market for a new Computer case, you might want to have a look at the ABS Stealth chassis which is made up of an Aluminium alloy. It is avaialable in Silver and black and is arguably light for its size. It comes with a door, a small side window, mroe than enough screwdrivers, a removable motherboard tray but surprisingly, you will still need tools to install the drives.
You might want to pair this Powersupply from Silverstone with the casing above. The Strider ST60F PSU is a heck of a PSU with quad +12v - yes four, 120mm and modular cables. But it is those cables which gave PC Modding malaysia the most headaches. It is expensive but we did not expect less for a 600w PSU. Plus it is Nvidia SLI certified.
Laptoplogic has a huge 2.5-inch hard disk drive roundup. They have grouped twelve of them, everything from 4200 to 7200rpm. Apart from Samsung, all the major manufacturers - including Toshiba - are present. Hitachi grabs the picks for the best budget and top of range laptop hard disk drives while Toshiba gets the best middle HDDs. Like graphic card modules, Laptop hard disk drives are slowly catching up with their desktop counterparts.
Trusted reviews has done another round up, this time of mid range graphic cards. Included in the test Leadtek 6800GS, the Connect 3D X800 GTO and another GTO from Sapphire. The verdict is quite clear. The 6800GS is the pick of the day. But you might want to consider the Connect3D card which costs a full £40 less comes with VIVO and decent performance. TR says that they will review the GTO2 very soon which could change everything. µ
