IBM claims Power 6 will double chip performance

YOUNG SHAVER AND PEOPLE'S GEEK David Kanter went to the Microprocessor Forum last week and was entranced by IBM's gradual striptease of the Power 6 CPU.

It's going to fly along at between four and five gigglehertz and is built on a 65 nanometre silicon on insulator process. There is much more and it's here.
