Toshiba agrees to build laptops with AMD chips

TOSHIBA, ONE OF THOSE firms that only used to only buy Intel, says it will give AMD a try.

The firm said it will put AMD chips in up to 20 per cent of the notebooks it sells in Europe and the US and A.

The firm stopped using AMD chips in 2001. AMD claims this was beacuse Intel leaned on it unfairly.

from various reports the firm will ship AMD-powered laptops this summer, before its newer mobile chippery named Puma comes online. µ
