The OCZ Gamexstream will run at a peak load of 1010W - previous PSUs in this range provided loads of 600W, 700W, and 850W - the INQ reviewed the 700W PSU here and found it a more than capable power supply.
It features an active PFC (Power Factor Correction) to regulate input voltage and provide operation in a wide range of environments and countries with varying voltages.
The SLI-Ready 1010W Gamexstream is among the most powerful solutions available, yet will remain sufficiently quiet ensuring gamers hear their games and not their PC - kept cool with a large 120mm fan, the powerful Gamexstream still remains silent and cool even at peak loads.
PSU connector cables, including quad PCI-Express and a 4/8-pin CPU connector, are wrapped in a flexible mesh, but unfortunately are still creatively connected.
Don't forget OCZ PSUs come with a three-year warranty backed by OCZ's Powerswap replacement programme, which is always a factor to consider when handing over hard earned Smithies.

The 1kW move comes shortly after rival companies released 1kW PSUs of their own. Enermax has released a 1kW Galaxy PSU and Silverstone has announced the Olympia available here, when the site is back up.
It's unknown at this stage if Mad Mike Mageek's solar panels will meet the demands of this PSU, or whether Harrow Council will allow the expansion of his solar array to encompass his entire roof, to support a 1kW quad-SLI octo-core gaming rig. µ
