HARD DRIVE manufacturer Western Digital said it has released Caviar RE2 RAID 400GB hard drives which come with a five year warranty.

The drives are intended for enterprise applications and use a technology WD dubs rotary accelerometer feed forward, which reduces vibration.

The drives also come with 16MB cache and have an average seek time of 8.7 milliseconds.

The drives have already started to be produced and will reach high volume in August. They will sell for around $289. µ
