Fortinet and Trend mend fences

Channel Patent row sorted, resellers breath sigh of relief

FORTINET and Trend Micro have drawn a line under their longstanding patent dispute.

Trend Micro had accused Fortinet's FortiGate boxes of infringing its patent covering virus scanning at the gateway.

Terms of the settlement were not made available, but the rottweilers at the International Trade Commission (ITC) have been called off.

Last summer, the ITC ordered Fortinet to stop selling products with antivirus software. This left many Fortinet resellers in the lurch and unclear about when they'd be able to resume sales. µ
