AMD's first Intel mobo to arrive in December

DFI preps RD600 board
Friday, 10 November 2006, 10:15
AMD'S RD600 chipset is AMD's first Intel chipset, ever.

From what we heard it looks like DFI will be the first with the retail board. This chipset has been delayed for quite some time and some companies like Sapphire decided to drop the project. It doesn't look like AMD will make more Intel chipsets in the future, so this might be the last one, but we might be wrong about that. Things change.

RD600 should be the best overclocker on market and should even surpass the great scores of Nforce 680i SLI. Nforce 680 is already a better overclocker than Intel own chipsets, the 975 and P965, and RD600 might be even better.

DFI is committed to make a board around it and this usually means it will be a hell of a good overclocker. We also learned that memory manufacturers are keeping expectations high for this one, as it might be the best overclocker so far. µ
