GTA4 leaked online
THE OFFICIAL RELEASE is only six days away, but hacked copies of Rockstar's latest opus - Grand Theft Auto 4 - are already appearing on the interwebs.
Retailers have been threatened with thumbscrews if they dare break the game's street date of April 29, even under intense pressure from gamers desperate to get their hands on what is sure to be the game of the year. So far, all have publicly avoided getting into trouble - but someone, somewhere, has been very naughty indeed.
Cracking group 'Icon' has taken credit for leaking the full 6.32GB disk image of the Xbox 360 version to Bittorrent. This is the PAL version - indicating that it's come from a UK or Australian source - and does appear to be the legit thing. The release notes for the game suggest that eager gamers don't play the game whilst connected to Xbox Live, to avoid the Volish authorities from picking up on the outrage and banning their British butts.
Word on the street is that this is a toned down Australian version, so if you really want to chainsaw hookers' faces off, you'll have to buy the real thing when it comes out.
Reports are also hitting the intertubes that an NTSC version of the game has shown up courtesy of '101'.
The leak has led to a flood of GTA4 video being posted online, with various online video sites hosting gameplay footage, the introductory trailer, and the inevitable deluge of cool stunts and glitches.

The 360 ISO is the exact same size as the maximum data size for 360 games (the other 1.2GB is reserved on all 360 DVD's for Xbox security).

and Secam is the same as PAL (well, if it isn't broadcast)
the ntsc version is already out.....you should see how many people are leeching the game from torrents. 10000 and only from 2 trackers!!

it's like this game stirred up one hell of a giant modedXbox360 users nest.
Now they will say it's because PC piracy LOL
At least the NTSC one is the real deal.
I dream of the day, more than an year from now, when I will be able to play it on the PC....

How many games suffer on PC because they were designed with the lowest common denominator in mind i.e. Playdoughstations and HexBoxes?

My last console was a colecovision and I have never looked back since getting a PC.

Why should I spend £200 + on PC graphics card, not including the actual PC & monitor to play a game which runs perect on a console which costs a fraction of the price. All you PC nerds want to try leaving your darkend bedrooms and open your eyes to the world of consoles.. You might like it !!

Do these guys not realise that EVERY single game, PC/Xbox360/PS3 (even tho u can't play them yet) gets released by pirates BEFORE the shops???

Come on! Even if I was to download this game to play, I would STILL be buying it on tuesday cus it's gonna be such a good game!

People should stop whining about how much money they are losing and concentrate on making great games - cus as we will see from the sales figures, this early release will do NOTHING to hurt the figures sold!

I tried an xbox360 on my 42" plasma. The graphics reminded me of Dreamcast. I like racing games and tried NFS4. The game didn't even support 16:9 - it was simply stretched 4:3. The other game was 16:9 native but looked really crappy (some $45 RPG).

On my 22" LCD with a single ATI 3870 and a core2duo ($1000 system in December) Everything looks amazing. I can see ridiculous levels of detail in games like Crysis, C&C3 and the latest NFS.

I'm really anal about quality. If it's not there, my interest is soon lost.

WTF? What kind of cables were you using, A/V? Use component, of HDMI for cripes sake. I have a PS3 on a 50" plasma and it looks pristine.
