Robo-Vigilante hits the streets

Thank you for not smoking

PUB owner Rufus Terrill has built a Robo-Viligante to clear the streets around his bar from the riff-raff that hangs around his bar.

Terrill said he had a gutsful of the drug dealers, petty thieves and vandals that roam the streets outside his downtown Atlanta bar.

So he built a remote controlled robot made out of a meat smoker atop a three-wheel scooter and attached a spotlight, an infrared camera, water cannon and a loudspeaker. He covered the beast with impact-resistant rubber and painted the whole thing jet black.

Every night he drives the robot to a local day centre where 'human trash' are congregating and tells them to leave.

When they throw cans and bottles at the robot, it sprays them with water cannon.

Terrill said that the drug dealers 'scatter like roaches'.

His regulars cheer on the robot from the safety of the bar's porch.

Atlanta police officials said they haven't received any complaints about the robot, but point out he is committing a crime when the robot sprays people with water. µ
