Nvidia water cooler fits to X1800XT

Gets it to 698/1584MHz, can go to 725MHz core

CHAPS FROM a nice UK company called Vadim.co.uk managed to fit an Nvidia water block to a new X1800XT card. It managed to run that card at 698MHz core and 1584MHz, which is a decent overclock but not a killer. We tried to overclock this card with air but we could not go that far as the memory on the card is definitely very overclocking limited.

The guys managed to get the machine to reach a nice 9428 in 3Dmark05 which is a good score for a single card. We would like to see 10K from an air cooled card but we just could not crank it that high.

You actually want to water-cool this card as its stock cooling can get noisy and water cooling is close to soundless. It will take GPU temperature from 90 Celsius to a much better 60 Celsius while the PCB will heat to 40 degrees only.

Those guys manage to get to 725MHz too, which is a nice score for a card that already runs warm, not with water anyhow.

You can check the rest of the details here. µ
